Celebration of Sport
At the conclusion of National School Sport Week each year, the Stafford and Stone School Sport Partnership hosts its annual Celebration of Sport. The event is a high quality evening which consists of:
- Awards
- Sporting Displays
- Guest Speakers
- Live Music
- and much more.....
In July 2011, A full house at St. Leonard's Sports and Social Club was treated to a very special evening at the recent Stafford and Stone School Sport Partnership Celebration of Sport evening.
High quality pupil displays in cheerleading, dance, basketball to music plus two live musical performances from local talented youngsters added to a entertaining night.
Guests included England Rugby Squad member Stacey McGuire, local running paramedic Ray Edensor, Jeremy Lefoy MP, many headteachers and local borough councillors.
The event in its 5th year is going from strength to strength and demonstrates the quality of PE and School Sport in the Stafford and Stone area.
Steve Glover, Partnership Development Manager said, "What a great evening. Our two Young Ambassadors, Steve Morton and Katie Gamston did an outstanding job of comparing the evening and the pupil displays get better each year. On this occasion we have started to include a cultural element with dancers performing to live music.
We are excited that School Sport in Stafford and Stone is going from strength to strength and looking forward to being a part of the National School Games next year."
