Children from Haughton St. Giles did some writing about the Football festival & the Borough Hockey coach, Cat.
"I like playing Football because it is fun. Sam was our manager, he knew what he was doing. We are very glad that they (King Edwards) are kind and invited us (to the tournament) we will be happy to go again"
Jonathan
"I felt it (the Football festival) went really well. I would like to do it again because it was really well organised. I think our team did really well"

"I really enjoyed the tournament at King Edwards. It was great fun right the way through. We were given a manager (from Y10) at the start who made sure that we got to all our matches. I am really glad that I saved a penalty because Miss Holland let me off for forgetting my homework!"

"I am really enjoying having Cat in and teaching us hockey. I wasn't very good with my stick before, but now I am a lot better at passing, dribbling, shooting and tackling. It is so fun and exciting learning new hockey skills. I always play football and it's a bit better to learn a new sport like hockey."
Charlotte
"I think I am good at hockey, even though I am sometimes quite scared of the ball and for getting hurt. I really, really, really like the hockey teacher Cat. She is really nice and funny and nice to us all.
Kayleigh
"We have only been learning hockey from Cat for a month or two but we know most of the rules already because of Cat. She does really good warm ups that often make us laugh. She also measures us up for the correct size of hockey stick, the hockey sticks are all colour coded so we do not get them mixed up. I think that Cat really likes her job and is a really good hockey teacher"
Bethany
"I think that our hockey lessons are really enjoyable and rewarding. We have a wonderful time with our coach Cat. She teaches us so that we learn, but have fun at the same time."
Natasha
"I think that it is really good to be allowed to have Cat as our hockey teacher. It is a brilliant sport to learn and play. I really like learning skills and playing matches. We also have loads more brill clubs at school"

Circus Skills Festival
31/01/08
Stafford & Stone School Sports Partnership have successfully introduced circus skills into many of its primary schools.
Part of the money received from the Big Lottery Fund has been spent supplying schools with training and equipment to deliver circus skills as an out of school hours activity.
Assistant Partnership Development Manager, responsible for the Big Lottery application Jo Cooper has been delighted with the response "I'm really pleased with the uptake of the clubs and the excitement and enthusiasm Circus skills has provided for the young people. The aims of the clubs are to improve their co-ordination skills and increase their activity levels with a fun and alternative sport!"
The introduction has been so successful that the King Edward VI High School family of schools held the first Circus Skills festival in the partnership on 31/1/08.
7 primary schools, All Saints Ranton, Castlechurch, Church Eaton, Doxey, Gnosall St Lawrence, St. Pauls & Woodseaves, around 100 children, attended the event, each bringing children to sample the fun of circus skills. Organised by Dawn Gibbs the King Edward VI High School Sports Coordinator, Rebecca Lugg and Dave Summers lead the demonstrations of various circus skills.
Students from King Edwards assisted Rebecca & Dave showing off their skills in amongst other things Juggling, Rhythm sticks, Poi, Diabolos, Hoops and Plate spinning.
The primary children, ranging from Year 1 - Year 6 accompanied by their staff, parents and other students from King Edwards then tried their hand at the activities on offer.
