Stafford and Stone School Sport Partnership School to Club Link
Physical Education, School and Club Links (PESSCL) 2002.
School to Club links is about providing a sustainable link from schools to clubs. It supports the
governments PE in School Sport Club Links target of participating in 2 hours of physical education and school sport (PESSCL) each week. It is one of the eight strands of the PESSCL National
Strategy.
It's ultimate aim is to strengthen links from schools to club and therefore increase participation within accredited sports clubs.
We recognise that there are a number of young people between the ages of 4-18, who are participating at school in certain sports and activities who wish to contribute this in a club setting.
Our aim
To increase the number of young children who participate in community based clubs.
What outcomes will it provide?
-
It will provide links that allow both schools and clubs to communicate their strengths, needs and ambitions to each other in a simple way to work in partnership for the benefit of the young people.
-
Schools will know the aims of the club and promote/ encourage young people to join the clubs for participation, leadership, officiating and administration.
-
Clubs will be asked to keep and then forward registers in order to help schools track the sporting involvement and achievement of their students
